  • Heriot-Watt academic appears on Newsnight: The topical issue of carbon storage was the focus of a major investigation on Newsnight Scotland on BBC2 on Tuesday 24 November. Dr Eric Mackay of the Institute of Petroleum Engineering was interviewed at length for the broadcast, offering his views on the tremendous opportunities that exist, and the research that is taking place at Heriot-Watt University and as part of the Scottish Centre for Carbon Storage.   • The Summer 2009 edition of the University of Edinburgh Bulletin magazine has a profile (pages 20-21) of Martin Siegert (head of the University of Edinburgh School of GeoSciences) and his research, and also a mention of the new Climate Change Centre.
