Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is a suite of technologies which enable CO2 to be captured at power plants and industrial sites, transported and injected into deep geological reservoirs, for long term storage. Edinburgh collaboration between the University of Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt University and BGS has created the largest expert academic group on CCS in the UK, with links to engineering, social sciences and law. There is commercial sponsorship from, and a close research relationship with, diverse large and small companies.
